Start with your actual day
The most useful things tend to fit the life you already have. A comfortable pair for the walk to work. A bag that holds lunch and an extra layer. A cup that makes an ordinary morning feel a little more considered.
Look for easy combinations
A small palette makes mixing things simpler. Start with the colors you already wear, then add texture: canvas against cotton, a soft knit over a crisp shirt, or a warm ceramic finish on a plain table.
Leave a little room
You do not need to fill every space or solve every occasion at once. Notice what you use, what you miss, and what spends its time untouched. Let the next addition have a reason to be there.
